Inaugurated in 1927, one of the symbols of the district, it was built on a project by architect Pietro Lombardi and placed at the center of Piazza Mastro Giorgio, the current Testaccio square. In 1935 it was moved to the piazza dell’Emporio, in front of the Ponte Sublicio, and in its place was placed the local market. Since 2012, as part of a redevelopment project, with the transfer of the market to a new location, the fountain has been relocated to its original location. The core is the elegant and slender group of amphoras, at the center of four rectangular basins placed in a cross. In travertine, it rests on a base with a circular plan, with four ramps of five steps each.
Schedule: Open 24 hours a day
Tickets: Not necessary
